It's coming up again! The Mackatak Training Camp at the Clyffe House: May 22-25, 2008
has been coaching for more than 25 years. During that time he was a provincial
and national champion runner at Queens University, Ontario's Ironman of the
year (1989), the winner of local and international triathlon and duathlon races,
and was the second Canadian finisher at the Ironman World Championship in Hawaii
both times he raced there.
On top of all that competitive experience, Kevin has also coached many top age
group and professional triathletes in Canada and the United States. Some of
the athletes he has worked with over the last decade include Ironman World Champion
Lori Bowden, three-time Ironman Champion Lisa Bentley, five-time national champion
Mark Bates, and many other elite athletes. He has also worked with provincial
and national championship track and field athletes.
Working with the elites is one thing, but the mark of a great coach is if he
can take "regular" type athletes and help them improve. Over the years Kevin's
personal training clients have achieved their fitness dreams -- they've lost
weight, improved their running times, completed some of the toughest bike climbs
in the world, and improved their appearance.
Kevin keeps himself busy as the Head Coach of the Hamilton
Hammerheads, a youth triathlon club, and as the managing editor of Ironman.com
and editor of Triathlon Magazine Canada.
Kevin is the perfect choice for a triathlon coach ... he has his own, hands-on
professional triathlon racing and training experiences which he can and does
incorporate into his coaching.
The training schedule which he devises is for me! He considers my weaknesses
and strengths, and bases my workouts on eliminating those weaknesses.
You really did help me achieve all of my goals!
